DraftKings Secures Key Mobile Sports Betting License in Missouri Ahead of December Launch
August 18, 2025 — DraftKings has officially secured one of only two untethered mobile sports betting licenses in Missouri, positioning itself for a strong launch in the state’s soon-to-debut sports wagering market.
The Missouri Gaming Commission has granted DraftKings full regulatory approval, clearing the way for the digital sportsbook operator to go live when the market opens — tentatively scheduled for December 1, 2025, pending final regulatory clearance.
Joining DraftKings in securing the coveted remote-only license is Circa Sports, marking a significant milestone for both operators as Missouri prepares to become the 29th U.S. state where DraftKings will offer mobile sports betting. The company also operates in Ontario, Canada, and Washington, DC.
Unlike tethered licenses that require partnerships with physical casinos, Missouri’s untethered model allows DraftKings and Circa Sports to operate independently through their mobile platforms, without needing a land-based presence.
